Why should I register my dog with C.U.K.C. ?
Registration creates an official record of your dog and helps establish ownership, identity, ancestry where applicable, and participation in C.U.K.C services and activities.
Is C.U.K.C only for purebred dogs?
No. C.U.K.C is an inclusive registry and club. We provide registration options for purebred dogs, mixed breeds, mongrels, working dogs, and other dogs that meet the applicable registration requirements.
Can imported dogs be registered?
Yes. Imported dogs may be eligible for C.U.K.C registration, subject to the applicable requirements and supporting documentation.
What is a pedigree?
A pedigree is a record showing a dog's documented ancestry. CUKC may issue pedigrees where sufficient ancestry information is available and verified.
Can a dog be registered without a pedigree?
Yes. Not every dog has documented ancestry. CUKC provides registration options for dogs without an established pedigree.
Can a dog registered with another kennel club also be registered with CUKC?
Yes. A dog may be eligible for CUKC registration even if it is registered with another organization, subject to CUKC's requirements and documentation.
Do I have to register my dog to become a CUKC member?
No. CUKC membership and dog registration are separate services, although members may choose to register their dogs with CUKC.
Who can become a CUKC member?
CUKC welcomes dog owners, breeders, handlers, trainers, judges, veterinarians, clubs, kennels, junior members, and other canine enthusiasts.
Will CUKC host dog shows and events?
Yes. CUKC will sanction and organize conformation shows, performance events, dog sports, educational activities, and other canine events.
Who can host dog shows and events?
Anyone can host shows and events, as long as they meet the necessary requirements and agree to abide by CUKC'S Rules and Regulations.
Can registered dogs earn CUKC titles?
Yes. Eligible dogs may participate in CUKC-sanctioned events and earn applicable titles and awards.
Who can judge CUKC events?
CUKC events may be officiated by licensed CUKC judges or approved guest judges, in accordance with CUKC requirements.
Can any dog participate in CUKC activities?
Yes. Participation will depend on the rules of the particular event or activity. CUKC aims to provide opportunities for dogs beyond traditional purebred conformation.
Can breeders register their kennels with CUKC?
Yes. CUKC provides Kennel Registration for eligible breeders and kennel operators.
Can an existing kennel club or dog club affiliate with CUKC?
Yes. Eligible clubs may apply for CUKC affiliation and operate under CUKC's applicable requirements.
Does CUKC charge the same fee for every type of dog registration?
Not necessarily. Fees may vary according to the type of registration or service requested.
Can I update information on my dog's CUKC record?
Yes. Certain information may be corrected or updated through CUKC's applicable administrative services.
How do I register my dog with CUKC?
Choose the registration type that applies to your dog, complete the appropriate application, provide the required information and supporting documents, and submit it to CUKC with the applicable fee.
Is CUKC only for Jamaica?
No. CUKC aims to serve dog owners, breeders, clubs, and canine enthusiasts throughout not only the Caribbean, but beyond.
How can I become involved with CUKC?
You can become involved by registering your dog, becoming a member, joining an affiliated club, participating in events, volunteering, supporting educational initiatives, or simply following CUKC and sharing in our canine community.
